Established in 2016, Hotel Luna is a vintage trailer hotel located in the heart of Taos, New Mexico. Each trailer is unique as it has retained its vintage soul while applying modern amenities. This hotel becomes a mesa living experience where visitors come to disconnect from technology and be surrounded by the desert, mountains, and hot springs, all just a few miles of each other.
The current hotel does have a logo, but there was an opportunity to create an identity system with extensions including art direction of collateral unique to the hotel, print, and social media. With a strong system, it will be able to showcase this multi-layered experience and bring consistency to uniquely different rooms within the hotel.
The logo represents the concept of a communal experience with the trailers, connecting back to nature, and human connection. Paying homage to its original name translating to mystic moon, the logo and typeface's contrasts of thicks and thins are inspired by moonlight and shadow, and an array of contrasting elements that makes this location so unique.
